Huge crowds at tourism expo event

24 million worth of business likely to have been conducted at Aberdeen expo

Around 500 global travel agents and tour operators attended Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) for the VisitScotland Expo event, with more than £24 million worth of business likely to have been conducted.


The event was aimed at tourism businesses looking to promote their product and giving them the opportunity to showcase their services to prospective buyers. The regional partnership director for VisitScotland, Jim Clarkson, said: “VisitScotland expo is a highlight of the travel trade calendar, offering a golden opportunity for Scottish tourism businesses to inspire tour operators to make a stop with them in the future.


“It is incredibly important that we use events like VisitScotland expo to position Scotland as the key destination in the celebration of Scotland’s pioneering, past, present and future”.
