Date : 03/03/2015

Scotland's hotel sector will continue to grow over the next year with Edinburgh expected to be among the most popular cities in Europe according to PwC.

The European cities hotel forecast from PwC analyses trends and gives forecasts for twenty cities. The report suggests Scotland's hotel sector will continue to grow over the next year with Scotland's capital one of only three cities in Europe forecast to have occupancy rates of over 80% in 2015 along with London and Paris.

Events over the next 12 months, including the World Gymnastics Championship, Turner Prize and the Year of Food and Drink, are expected to create an increase in bookings.

However, the growth in Scotland is expected to be slower than in 2014 when Scotland hosted the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup.
