There will be more events than ever before to celebrate St Andrew’s Day in Scotland this November according to the Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, Fiona Hyslop, who has this week unveiled plans for St Andrew’s Day Out 2014.

Scots and visitors alike are being encouraged to take advantage of the wealth of events and offers available to celebrate Scotland’s national day on 30 November.

Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, said:
“With its biggest-ever events programme running across November, St Andrew’s Day Out 2014 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all that is great about Scotland – including our thriving contemporary culture, our rich heritage and our world-renowned warm and friendly welcome.

In addition to more than 200 attractions in Scotland running discounted offers, there will be seven St Andrew’s Day events including major city centre events in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and regional celebrations in East Lothian, Oban, St Andrews and Perth.  Festivities will include storytelling and music as well as traditional Scottish food and drink.

The Scottish Government has invested £315,000 in Scotland’s Winter Festival Programme – which will begin on St Andrew’s Day and culminate on Burns Night and will be delivered by EventScotland
