Have you ever thought about attracting visitors to your area by using ancestry?

One of the key themes of Homecoming Scotland is ancestry and recent research has shown a big potential market for people tracing their Scottish roots and visiting the places their families came from. These visitors stay longer, spend more and visit over a longer season. They also show a higher than average tendency to return, making them ideal customers.

As well as following in the footsteps of their ancestors, these visitors want to get a real insight into the area: experiencing local attractions, food and drink and so making them potential customers for a wide range of businesses.

Is there potential to attract more ancestral visitors to your area?
