A new digital platform, scotlandnow.com, designed to cater to the expatriate community and those who can trace some form of Scottish ancestry, has been launched by Media Scotland.

With an estimated and approximate 50m people with Scottish connections throughout the world, the online publication has been designed to keep a global audience up to date on developments at home via a daily delivery of news and sport, comment and features. Readers will be able to share their own views via a built-in social media stream.

Scotland Now Editor Katrina Tweedie commented: “Unashamedly patriotic, Scotland Now will be a place for Scots throughout the world to share what we’re talking, reading, thinking and laughing about."

Allan Rennie, Media Scotland’s managing director, added: “If ever there was a time to harness the energy of the diaspora it is now – when the eyes of the world are on Scotland.

“This is a dynamic development and shows the level of digital ambition we have within the business. Ultimately, our aim is to make the site the number one destination for Scots, and fans of Scotland, wherever they are in the world.”
