Drop In and Connect on Royal Deeside

Businesses can learn how to make the most of online activities and how to work with VisitScotland at this open day event in Royal Deeside.

Date : 25/04/2014

The VisitScotland Information Centre, in the Old Royal Station, Station Square, Ballater, will be the venue for an open day on Thursday 1st May from 11am to 4pm, aimed at giving local tourism businesses the chance to pose questions to staff from the national tourism organisation.

One-to-one appointments will be available with Patrick O’Shaughnessy and Dennis McFarlane, who will help businesses with their online activity and explain how to make to most of working with VisitScotland.

Representatives from local tourism businesses are invited to drop-in at any time for a chat with team members and partners, including staff from both the Cairngorms National Park Authority and Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms Destination Management Organisation - in relation to any tourism-related queries.

The event is free to attend and business representatives can drop in and speak to the team at any time during the session, where refreshments will also be available.

Philip Smith, Aberdeen City and Shire’s Regional Director, will also attend to meet industry members and discuss the opportunities available to them during the second Year of Homecoming in 2014.

He said: “This is a great opportunity for local industry members to come and meet us for a chat about all things tourism-related and to ask any questions.

“When Scotland welcomes the world in 2014 with a line-up of truly global events, including the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, The Ryder Cup and Homecoming Scotland 2014, it is imperative that tourism businesses in Aberdeen City and Shire exploit this opportunity like never before.”
