The Scottish golf tourism industry paid tribute to the contribution of Aberdeen Asset Management to golf in Scotland by honouring CEO Martin Gilbert with the coveted Special Achievement Award at the 10th annual Scottish Golf Tourism Excellence Awards.

Gilbert was one of eleven winners on an evening when representatives of the Scottish golf tourism industry voted their top performers of 2013 during Golf Tourism Scotland’s annual awards ceremony at the five-star De Vere Cameron House Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Amongst those recognised at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2013 were Ruairidh MacDonald, who won the award for Young Industry Person of the Year - In Partnership with HIT Scotland.

Award winner Ruairidh has recently launched an independent start up podcast for inbound golfers to Scotland, with the aim of enhancing the travelling golfers’ understanding of the Scottish golf scene.

The podcast series hopes to unearth the gems of Scotland while showcasing the great variation of golf courses, hotels and activities Scotland has to offer.
