Scotland's top visitor attractions and venues are offering free or discounted entry to encourage Scots to celebrate St.Andrew's Day and learn more about the Nation's culture.

A host of venues across Scotland, include Glasgow's Riverside Museum, The Edinburgh Dungeons, The Highland Wildlife Park, Jacobite Experience Loch Ness and The Famous Grouse Experience in Perthshire are taking part in the programme which runs from 18th November until 1st December 2013.

Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop met children in Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden recently to promote the St.Andrew's Day Out programme.

Fiona Hyslop said: “St Andrew’s Day is the perfect opportunity for Scots and Scots at heart around the world to celebrate all that is great about our nation - including our thriving contemporary culture, our rich heritage and our warm and friendly welcome.

"What better way to enjoy our national day than to gather together friends and family to explore what’s on offer?" “We want Scots to take advantage of the diverse range of events and activities on their doorstep and celebrate a fun-filled St Andrew’s Day out this year.”
