Team Scotland: making the Homecoming happen

There’s a simple philosophy behind Homecoming, it’s called Team Scotland, and you can be a part of it. No matter how big or how small your event, you can be a vital part of Homecoming Scotland 2014.

Date : 29/10/2013

Homecoming can bring you plenty of new business, especially if you’re a supporter or part of an organised event.  Funding rounds have closed, we are just a short time away from 2014 after all – but there’s still plenty of support and advice available for would-be organisers.

The biggest part of Homecoming is the Partnership Programme, which is great news for events and organisers all around Scotland.  Your event may not qualify for direct funding, but if it’s a good fit with the aims and objectives of Homecoming, you’re well on the way to joining in on marketing, branding and event support in general.

Within the overall objective of encouraging past and present visitors with a Caledonian connection, and those with an interest in Scotland in general, your event should include themes like activity tourism, ancestral research, showcasing the creative arts, enjoying the best of our food and drink, or making the most of our natural assets.

This is a great opportunity to tap into the resources and experience of EventScotland, usually reserved for the mega-events, like the signature level ones – the Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup and big crowd-pullers. Because Homecoming is effectively promoted as one big year-long promotion, this is a unique chance to be part of something huge, for free.

The Homecoming Scotland 2014 logo and marketing programme is going to be global, around the world and around the block. So, wherever you generate business, potential clients are going to get the message. Imagine how your business could benefit from participating, and how you could help Homecoming be an even bigger and longer-lasting success.

If you’ve not already done so, the time to act is now. With places still available for Partnership status, there’s every reason for your proposals or local event to get recognised and be part of Homecoming Scotland 2014. Don’t miss out.
