In this short video, Josh Carson, one of the Directors at Edinburgh based digital design agency, Geared App, talks about what he has learnt from attending Edinburgh Tourism Action Group (ETAG) event - Technology Solutions for Tourism Conference 2015.
The event which is now its fifth year brings technology and tourism businesses together to identify opportunities to use technology to ensure they meet the changing expectations of Scotland’s digital tourist.
Josh Carson explains how he is using the event to launch one of the company’s latest apps called ‘Haggis Concierge’ for Haggis Hostels in Edinburgh. He said:
“We produce a concierge system for Haggis Hostels, a local Edinburgh business in the heart of the city. Through the app, we are able to manage guest stays whilst engaging with other businesses as well as generating additional revenue for the hostel.
“There have been lots of great speakers at the ETAG event, Nick Hall had some really interesting things to say on social media engagement. ETAG is one of the most vibrant and connected networks we are a member of, it’s really friendly and energetic group of people.
“Everyone has a genuine interest in getting involved with other people’s projects, which furthers the digital reach of tourism not just in Edinburgh, but globally as well”.
