Visitor attractions - experiences for generation Y consumers

Edinburgh Napier University has carried out new research into visitor attraction experiences, pricing and packaging for Generation Y consumers (aged between 18 and 30 years of age).

The project:

  • analyses the purchasing and consumption characteristics of Generation Y across a range of tourism, leisure and retail products
  • identifies the implications for visitor attraction products and service provision
  • provides strategies for the visitor attractions sector to aid with targeting and attracting the Generation Y consumer

A key output is a ‘Top Ten’ list of tips for attracting and serving the Gen Y audience segment.
